America's had Watergate and "Zippergate"...

Now it's Murrowgate!

GATES made by Fenland hands will soon be winging their way to America.

The huge gates - which measure up to 22 feet at their highest point - were a labour of love for architectural blacksmith Paul Bodger and employee John Furr at Stackwell Forge in Murrow.

They were asked to make the gates through a third party but know that they will be destined for a home in Kentucky.

Visitors connected with the order have been to see the gates and were very happy with them.

Paul said the gates had left his premises and gone to Birmingham to be coated with real bronze before continuing their journey.

"We are very proud of them, " he said, adding how he was currently looking for a trainee after a vacancy unexpectedly became available again at the last minute.
